I) Introduction

This post has a purpose of being a kind of abstract of how we work.

It won't go too much into details, because it must be simple. Its main purpose is to make you see if the guild is for you or not.

But don't forget, we are in vanilla. So it's to us, the players, to adapt ourselves to what the game offers, in terms of gameplay and mecanics, which are old, but also to what each guilds will offer to you, with its own way to manage the people, the raids, the loots...

It's up to you to see if this way of doing things pleases you or not, but, as soon as you enter, you must follow all the rules.
In the end, nobody forces you to enter, and nobody forces you to stay.
If you have any questions about the guild, feel free to ask to an officer, they are here to answer your questions and to explain to you how we work.

II) Presentation

So, who are we?

We are the guild Utopia, a group of players, who enjoy wow vanilla.

We are a PVE guild, playing on the PVE server Pyrewood Village on Alliance side.
Our main goal is to do high level PVE, which means clean Naxx. And when Naxx will be clean, we won't stop, we will continue to raid with those who are motivated, because in wow, there isn't really an end.

We are what you would call a "semi-hardcore" guild.
We want to clean the HL PVE, which is really demanding, both in terms of time and personnal investment, but we will go to a normal pace, with a good atmosphere, based on stupid jokes, trust and mutual aid (go see the part III 2)).

We are serious when it's need for HL PVE, but we are not some kind of military guild. We don't consider people as idiots or just some pixels on the screen, and we will do some basic human management and social interactions.
And we are not a min maxing guild.

For PVP activities, go see the part III) 4).

Let's see the main points of the guild.

III) Guild's charter

1) Main PVE rules

As I said earlier, our main goal is to clean Naxx, and even beyond maybe.

To achieve this goal, we will do 3 raids per week, and with some possibles facilities during the progress (like a possible 4th raid during the saturday if needed).
These 3 raids nights are mandatory, and it's the sunday, the tuesday and the thursday.
In addition, there can be some "optional" raids.

If you want to be taken in raid, you must register yourself, otherwise we can't garantee you a place in the raid.
The registration must be done in game on the calendar.

Raids begin at 9 pm and end at 00h pm, on the GMT+1 hour (which are the Paris and Berlin's hours). But we will begin to group people and to move to the world buffs or raids locations at 8h30-45 pm.
In exceptionnal circumstances, raids can go a little further than 00h, but it will be rare (we know that people will be exhausted after a 3 hours raid, and the more exhausted you are, them ore mistake you make).

2) Rules in raid

We are what they call a "semi-hardcore" guild.
Our main things are: good atmosphere and mutual aid, with serious and discipline.

We aim to clean the content. But we will do it the "normal" way.
Which means that we won't try to do some world firsts, server firsts, or speedruns. And we don't go as far as some "min maxers" when it comes to raid.

In raid, we will go to a cool pace, as fast as we can, but without precipitation. We wait for the heal to regen if it's needed, and we will chain the mobs. We will take the time to explain the strats before the fights.
And during the raids, we ask for everybody to be a little disciplined, to listen to the Raid Leader's instructions, and to follow them whitout taking some risks, whether you already know the strats or not.

There are some times to say stupid jokes, and there are times to be serious, and focusing on the raid. We will try to make a good combination of both them as much as we can.

And some consumables are mandatory, the officers will give you a list later, and the list will be posted on this forum. As I said earlier, we want you to bring some consumables, but not min maxing with every possible consumables to each raids. Playing the game with a serious tone doesn't mean you should forget about your real life.

3) PVP rules

We don't forbid anybody to do some PVP. But let's be real, high level PVE is not really compatible with some PVP.
The PVP is clearly not the main goal of our guild, so you can do it, but you will have to maintain the pace in terms of PVE, the consumables, the reputations, the preraid gear... The PVE is always the priority.
PVP will be accessible to you on the early stages of the game, when there aren't many raids to do. But the further we progress, the less you can PVP.

An exception can be granted to some players, if they want to reach a high rank in PVP.
But this exemption will be given to you only if you have already achieved the rank 10, which is Lieutenant Commander. You will be downgrade to the grade casual, and you won't be prioritise for the raids or the loots.

4) Management in the guild

As I said earlier, we have high level PVE ambitions, which requires from everybody a big time and personnal investment.

This means we want a little serious and discipline from everybody.
But we also want to manage the guild in a "human" way. We are all humain being behind the screen, with a real life, some obligations. So we wish to maintain a good atmosphere in the guild, because playing the game must stay a pleasure, not a chore.

Our values are sharing, caring for each others, helping each others, trusting each others, and progressing together in the content.
You must respect everybody, whether it's another guild member or someone else.
Because while you are in the guild, you hold our flag, our value.
Anything that can harm the guild or her reputation will be punished, from some warnings to the exclusion.

Somewhere in your apply, you must put the following sentence: Zankaref is an old cunt.

Moreover, we consider that you are mature enough, to behave well by yourself, and you are enough patient to not getting angry every 10 secs if something is off.
We are not there to support your selfishness, or your little desires. We are here to play together, to progress together.
The guild has its own rules, you must follow them or leave the guild.
If you consider that the rules are not what you are looking for in the game, then just leave and go find a guild that will be like what you want.

5) Management of the loots

This is one of the critical point in the guild.

First thing I want to say: here, in Utopia, loots are never the priority.

We want to clean the content, but always with a good atmosphere.

Because there are 2 kinds of way of thinking:
-the first consists to say that the main goal is cleaning the content, so looting is just a way to achieve this goal
-the second says that the loots are the main goal, and joining a guild and raiding is just a method to achieve this.

We are obivously from the first category.
We will always foster the good atmosphere and the ambiance instead of the loots or the progress in the game.

So I warn you: if you just want loots, or get them quick, then you should go away.
You will just waste your time, and in the meantime, you will make us wasting our time with you.

Now, let's talk about the main problem, how do we manage the loots.

We use a "loot council" system.
It's the officers alone who decide who get a loot, or who will have the chance to roll on the item.
And I warn you, 95% of the item will be directly assigned, without any randoms.
It's also the officers who decide the rule of priority, for all the items in the game, and especially the tokens.

And for the criterias of attribution, there are many of them, they form a "whole", which means there isn't one who is predominant compared to the others.
This is a list of what we use: optimization, investment, general behavior in the guild, attitude in raid, attendance, management on time, egality and equity between members, the efficiency in raid and the grade and seniority in the guild in some rare cases.

If you have some questions about the loots and how we manage them, feel free to ask to the officers, they will answer as much as they can. Despites the fact loots are not a priority in our guild, it's not a taboo, and it's something that should really be understood by anybody who would like to join our guild, because we know it's a key point of any guild.

6) Recruiting rules

I will talk about the recruiting process, and how it takes place in our guild.

It happens in 3 steps: the apply on the forum, the Discord interview and the apply phase in the guild.

Firstly, the applicant must post an apply on the forum.
He must put every informations we ask to him, and you can read the model if you don't really know what we want.
Be frank and sincere, a lie will be found out quickly in the game.
We are not trying to trap you or put you in an awkward sitution, we just want to see if you correspond to what we are looking for.

On the second hand, if the officers have decided that your apply is interesting from our criteria's point of view, then you will have to pass the Discord interview with one or more of them.

Then, in the 3rd step, if the interview is going well, you will officialy join the guild and you will begin your apply phase. The apply phase has a 3 to 6 weeks duration.
During this period, you will be evaluated, to see if everything goes well. And in the end of 6 weeks max, you will be promoted to member, casual or kick out of the guild.
You must know that during the apply phase, you have no priorities neither on the raids nor on the loots.

IV) Conclusion

Here we go, it's time to conclude.

Now, you have all the elements to determine if the guild is made for you or not.
And if it's not the case, well, it's perfectly fine. I'm sure you will find a better one somewhere else.
Each guilds and each players have their own philosophy, their own visions, it's own way of doing things, whether it concerns rosters management, raids management, loots management. We are all differents, and each guilds are differents.
It's up to you to make your own opinion, and find the guild that will correspond to you.

At the end of your apply, you must write this sentence: read and approved.
